Still looking for answers?

Here are my responses to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

If you do happen to have any other questions, please send me an e-mail at  info@linguatrabada.com so I can help you.

TRANSLATION: I need you to send me all the material that needs translating, as well as the project information and instructions.

PROOFREADING: simply send me the Word document with the texts that need proofreading and any instructions on what needs to remain unchanged.

COPYWRITING: we have to meet first to discuss your goals and see what you need and what you don’t. Please drop me a line to book a meeting.

When preparing the quote, I take into account:

  • The number of words in your text.
  • The language combination of your translation.
  • The level of specialisation required.
  • The initial and target format of your document.
  • And the deadlines.

For new clients or occasional projects, a quote is accepted once we have signed the contract and I receive proof of payment of the indicated sum (depending on the amount, this will be 50% or 100%). For recurring clients, apart from signing a contract before the work relationship starts, a quote is accepted immediately once confirmed via e-mail. In this last case, I issue a single invoice at the end of the month with all the projects I have delivered.

Bank transfer. If the transfer involves any fees, these will be borne in full by the client.

The answer is no in both cases. I only use software designed for translators [aka Computer-Aided Translation (CAT) tools], which allows me to create translation memories to achieve terminology coherence for each client. But it is always me translating everything so I can have more control over the text and make it sound natural. The same applies to my copywriting.
